Childhood friends, Ashley Baker and Carly Beck are in their second season of designing handbags that are classic, casual & effortlessly CHIC! Their Fall collection can be found here at MEADOW and every piece is amazing. I have yet to see a handbag line at this price point pay such close attention to quality and detail. These are truly bags that you will have for a lifetime.
After working 15 years in the New York fashion industry the two have joined together to form their collection of leather goods known as Sedgwick. The friendly duo debuted Sedgwick in Spring 2011 while working their current jobs, Carly as the brand director for brands such as Diane Von Furstenberg and Steven Alan and Ashley as the executive editor for The Daily Front Row!!!! The pair named their line after the county in which they grew up, Sedgwick County, Kansas….in Witchita.

The collection’s style is faint for both the ladylike and the wild at heart. Sedgwick prides itself on the value and quality of their leather handbags. They strive to create easy to carry silhouettes ranging from $250 – $600. All of their manufacturing is done in Manhattan, NY!
Here is a peak at some of the pieces you can find here at Meadow! I am honored to be one of the lucky stores carrying this up and coming handbag line and to be working with such talented designers. The clutches are to die for & they really hold all of the necessities for a night on the town! I have one and love carrying it out for a night out with my hubby or friends. They work well back to cocktail dresses just as easily as they do with a pair of jeans. This line is so chic and versatile!

Where has the year gone? I can’t believe it is already Thanksgiving! I am so sorry that I have been out of touch this Fall! I have been busy busy with a new house, a bubbly toddler and of course the store!!! I am trying to come up for air and have several posts in the works so please stay tuned for some updated blogging from MEADOW in the coming weeks!
In the meantime I couldn’t let one of my favorite holidays pass us by without telling everyone hello and wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving! I am so thankful for so many things in my life! MY list could go on and on….like it did last year…..but this year I am most thankful for my sweet and adorable husband (who is the most amazing father to our little munchkin) and for our baby girl!!! MY life would not be complete without the two of you!
I am also SOOOOO THANKFUL for MEADOW & the MEADOW girls; AMANDA, CATHARINE & JESSIE! There is something to be said for loving what you do and loving who you’re with and I can honestly say that not a day goes by that I don’t count my blessings because I ADORE the girls that work here at the store and I am so lucky to have each and every one of you! (I don’t have a pic of the three of you….or I would post one here….I’m going to work on that!)
So instead I will post one more pic of what I am MOST thankful for in life! 
I hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow….full of love and laughter with friends & family and of course a yummy meal to go with it! Bob and I will be in the kitchen tonight after Ella goes to bed! I am in charge of cooking the squash casserole and Bob is in charge of the berry cobbler…..I can’t help but think it is pretty cute that my husband VOLUNTEERS every holiday to make the cobbler 
He came home this morning with $90 worth of fresh fruit! This is a man who is proud of his cobbler! Maybe I will share one of his secret recipes with you one of these days!!! We will be spending tomorrow at my parents house. My mom is one of the best cooks I know….she has taught me everything I know….HAHAHAHA!!! Actually…..I do love to cook and I really am pretty decent in the kitchen….I guess you should ask Bob or some of my closest friends if you want an honest opinion on that!!!

I am obsessing over Of Two Minds Fall 2011 collection! If you haven’t already introduced yourself to this designer now is the time! Last year the L.A. based clothing line took on designer, Sunjoo Moon and the results are gorgeous! I have been following this line for several seasons and it wasn’t until this season that it really made a huge impression on me. The attention to detail and quality that Moon has put into each and every piece really is remarkable coming from a contemporary designer. This Fall 2011 you will see native prints, loose silhouettes, leather & textured knits…a little SoCal hippie meets urban chic is their style for this season! The jackets in this collection were particularly stunning….each style was luxurious & perfectly tailored! It was hard to choose one jacket from the collection…but this leather beauty below is the one I chose for MEADOW! I hope you like it!

I am a wee bit late in my reporting on some exciting news…we bought a NEW HOUSE!!! We closed back in May, but since then we have been doing some serious remodeling and it is taking up any extra energy that I have on reserve. Who am I kidding….I am running on Starbucks these days!
The house was built in the 20′s, and is a two-story Spanish Mediterranean house. We refinished all of the hardwood floors, painted all of the walls, painted the kitchen cabinets, added on a laundry room to the back of the house, remodeled Ella’s bathroom, and remodeled the back house. Our next project will be painting the exterior and some serious landscaping! The addition is still a work in progress so we haven’t been able to move in yet….crossing my fingers that it is soon!!! I will post pics when some of the mess gets cleaned up!
My first design project now that construction is in full swing is Ella’s room! I never really decorated a proper nursery for her when she first hatched….we knew we weren’t going to be here very long. Needless to say I think I threw it together in literally two weeks with things that we had in storage from my sisters babies, some of my parents hidden treasures in their storage units and a few odds and ends! So….it’s time and I am going all out! Seeing as she is already 14 months I am going to softly transition her into a little girls room!
If you know me….you know I LOVE color & print! Here is the rug I am currently OBSESSING OVER…..this website is amazing and I have been reading amazing things about this company. They will customize any size, make a rug with color swatches you select from a color palette in your own home….the possibilities are limitless! Their services and fabulousness don’t come cheap….but I love rugs…they can make such a statement in a room and I think I could splurge for this IKAT beauty!

California designer, Calleen Cordero’s line of luxurious handcrafted handbags, footwear and accessories is gaining attention across the country and we are definitely creating a buzz here in SA! Our first shipment arrived here at MEADOW a couple of weeks ago. The belts, jewelry and handbags are all equally incredible and we are hearing rave reviews from our MEADOW customers! Everyone is loving the latest newbie to our designer portfolio!

A year ago today I had no idea what was in store for me…we were about to check into the hospital and meet this little person that would forever change our lives! This past year this tiny little girl has brought me and Bob more love, laughter and joy than we ever imagined one little person could bring to the world! Her smile lights up a room!

Today was one of those days that I couldn’t quit smiling! Kelly, our BEIRN rep, e-mailed me to let me know that we had been credited in their feature on VOGUE’S most wanted list! If you don’t own a BEIRN handbag or accessory….now you know where to find one and so does everyone else that reads VOGUE.com’s most wanted!!! Pretty exciting!!! Sorry for all of the exclamation marks, but I can’t stop smiling so I figured you might as well see that through my punctuation! Vogue is one of the most well respected (if not the most) publications in the fashion industry and I am SOOOOO excited to have MEADOW grace their cyber pages! It is no secret that the 70′s are back and with that came the BELL BOTTOM!!! For some it may be easy to pick up the trends with each season that passes, while others are sitting around wondering what to do with their skinnies that they are just getting used to. A day of perfection for Prince William and Princess Kate! A true modern day fairytale! The royal wedding was flawless, spectacular in every way, & most importantly filled with grace and love! I was one of the 2 billion people that set my alarm clock for 3 am to watch the events of the morning unfold. Could anyone else imagine being in Kate’s shoes? It was so much fun watching the guests arrive at the Abbey, the crowd lining the streets, the horses and buggies….a day truly fit for a real life Princess!

Her dress was the perfect combination of classic and modern. Designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen with a bodice of ivory satin and hand-cut english and french Chantilly lace. It was truly magnificent!
The eight-tiered wedding cake was decorated with 900 delicate sugar flowers!
Wishing the royal couple a lifetime of love and happiness!
